Happy Birthday to Someone Special

I want to wish a "Special Lady" a very Happy Birthday and many, many more to come. She is not only a great friend, but a very caring, loving, and awesome person. Here is the card I made for her and then continue to the end of my post, please.  Thanks.

Now, I would like to tell everyone just how "Awesome" she is. Three years ago I posted and entry on a blog and won a prize.  I noticed when I went to her blog she had a site posted on the side panel, "Link Up for Pink", so I decided to check it out and it was a blog that was just starting and I decided to join in to support those fighting the battle of Breast Cancer.   I feel I have been very blessed not having to fight this battle.

I just want to say I am so happy our paths have crossed and I have a very wonderful friend.

Here's her story of how Link Up for Pink got it's start.
It started with an idea of hosting a blog hop, but instead I realized it would be best to host a linking party; an opportunity for all to share their pink projects, share their stories, build a strong community and most importantly bring awareness to breast cancer. When I brought this idea to a friend, she immediately responded, “Let’s do it”.
As we all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, but it should not start or end in October, we should always be aware. Remember to do your self-breast exams, send reminder cards to your friends to get their mammograms, and accompany a friend to their appointment. Somehow, some way we have known someone who has battled this terrible disease; some have fought a good fight, but unfortunately, some lost the battle. We lost my brother-in-law Kevin, Dulce’s daddy to cancer. My husband lost his grandmother to breast cancer and his Mom, my mother-in-law, Pat is in remission!

Link Up for Pink has a Relay for Life page. I am proud to announce we are one of the three virtual Relay for Life groups and the first ever blog event to be recognized by the American Cancer Society. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please click on the badge below.

As we take this journey together, let us take the time to celebrate life, live for today and remember the lives of the women and men no longer with us.

Thank you.

Gosh,  Link Up for Pink has grown and we now have a design team, we have monthly challenges, and of course the huge blog hop in October.   We have many, many generous sponsors, and our October Blog Hop has over 450 entries.  She works very hard keeping up with everything including the DT girls... her biggest problems!!  LOL

When you visit my blog you will see many cards posted for Link Up for Pink. I am honored to be a part of the design team and have met other great friends on the team and those that have commented on our creations.

Yolie, have a wonderful birthday!!!!

Hugs and kisses,

Joanie &
Kelly (my daughter and newest team member)!!

Keep Calm and Fight On!

It's hard to do, keep calm when you are fighting any kind of adversity!

But it's the best thing to do. Stay Calm. When we are calm we can think more clearly and handle things so much better!! When we are calm we are peaceful, unanxious, happy, secure, etc. When we are not calm we are anxious, troubled, worried, etc.

Learning how to remain calm in times of stress will not only make things go more smoothly immediately, it can also, over time, help you lead a healthier, happier life.

Getting stressed is not going to resolve the situation.

So Stay Calm and Fight ON!!!!!

Supplies used: Card stock - pink , white and pink embossed; patterned paper from LUFP; stamp from Fight For A Cure by Jaded Blossom; ink - Tuxedo Black by Memento; ribbon - Michaels; border punch - EK Success; corner rounder - Zutter; Button - Jennifer Scull
